What is CBD

Where does CBD come from?
CBD stand for Cannabidiol, and is one of over 100 active cannabinoids that make up the Cannabis plant.  When people think of Cannabis they usually think of someone getting high smoking a joint.  Although CBD is derived from the Cannabis plant it has ZERO psychoactive properties meaning it will no get you 'high' or 'stoned'.  The CBD used in the products we sell is produced from ultra low THC Cannabis Sativa and Hemp.  Unlike the regular Cannabis plant, Industrial Hemp called Sativa L contains almost no THC at all but retains all the other compounds, terpenes and flavonoids.  Only vape liquid is made from only CBD (which is called isolate - See here for more)

What does it do?
So what's the point in using it you might ask.  Well, science has shown that nearly every living animal on planet earth has what's called an ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM.  Our bodies produce cannabinoids every day.  The endocannabinoids fit into receptors in our body called CB1 and CB2 receptors, and they control things such as appetite, mood, anxiety, stress, sleep, memory and part of our immune system.  CB1 receptors are found all over the body, mainly in the brain and CB2 receptors are found in the immune system and affect inflammation and pain.  It was thought that CBD interacts directly with the receptors, but it's now thought to influence and encourage our body to use more of its own cannabinoids.  CBD had potential benefits and very few side affects, although it's widely agreed that more research should be done.

Why take it?
Most people will use CBD as a food and dietary supplement for everyday wellbeing, and to keep their endocannabinoid system in balance.  It can be taken in a number of ways, most commonly a few drops of CBD Oil under the tongue.  CBD Oil is usually made using a carrier oil such as Hemp Oil, Olive Oil or MCT Coconut Oil.  The amount taken and effect can vary from person to person, so always read the advise on the individual product, and always seek professional medical advise if you are unsure if you should use CBD in any form.
